Art Deco Silver, Onyx, Marcasite & Paste Drop Earrings

654N
Written by Olly Gerrish

A striking pair of silver drop earrings that were made in the 1920s in Germany. They have oval onyx plaques with marcasite around them. In the centre of each plaque is a pale blue paste. Above are articulated interwoven design silver sections set with graded marcasite. Marcasite (iron pyrites) was used a lot in the Art Deco period as it imitated rose diamonds. These earrings look amazing when worn.
