Art Deco Silver, Marcasite & Onyx Rectangular Ring

A very stylish silver ring that was made in the 1920s. At that time onyx was used extensively in jewellery as it is a dramatic stone. Here it has been cut in a rectangle with slanted corners. On either side there is a zig zag pattern set with graded marcasite (iron pyrites) within millgrain settings. This was the costume jewellery of the Art Deco period.
