Art Deco Rectangular Two Stone Diamond Ring

736G
Written by Olly Gerrish

A well designed Art Deco ring with a platinum top and an 18ct gold shank. The two diamonds are well matched and good bright white stones. They are set with a millegrain edge, a technique that was developed in the nineteenth century.

From the French word mille for a thousand, and from grain as the same meaning in English, ‘millegrain’ refers to what appears to be thousands of tiny beads upon a metal precipice or edge. It is a neat look as opposed to rather heavy claws. This ring would make a lovely engagement ring.
