Art Deco Rectangular Platinum & Diamond Ring with Key Design Detail

972N
Written by Olly Gerrish

A fabulous ring made in . It is an unusual design with a central very bright white with highly intricate pierced work around it in a key design with millgrain detail. The discovery of the precious metal platinum meant that from the start of the twentieth century many pieces were made in platinum as it was such a hard and durable metal and could be finely worked. The effect is like a spider’s web, something that could never be achieved using . It was most likely made in Germany circa 1920-1930. It would make an amazing engagement ring.
