Art Deco Platinum, Diamond & Vulcanite Ring

1000M
40 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A very impressive octagonal shaped platinum ring that was made in the 1920s. It is typical of the Art Deco period with it’s geometric form. In the centre is a large clear white diamond which is just under one carat and has been set in to an octagonal setting. Around the diamond is a band of black vulcanite which had been discovered at the end of the 19th century and was used in jewellery as an experimental material. Around the vulcanite are small diamonds. It is an incredible look and would be an amazing engagement or dress ring.
