Art Deco Platinum, Cabochon Emerald & Diamond Ring

345P
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A fabulous platinum ring that was made in the 1920s. It has been set with a three and a half carat emerald that has been cut ‘en cabochon’. The word cabochon is a stone that is cut with a highly polished, rounded or convex top with no faceting and a flat or slightly domed base. The term comes from the French ‘caboche’ meaning knob or small dome. The emerald is a wonderful green and is surrounded by well matched white diamonds. The split shoulders have been set with further graduated diamonds. It is an amazing ring and can be worn either as a dress ring or an engagement ring.
