Art Deco Platinum, Aquamarine & Diamond Wrap Over Buckle Design Ring

911N
Written by Olly Gerrish

A very stylish Art Deco platinum ring that was made in the early 1930s. It is designed like a buckle and has been set with an oval cut aquamarine with graded baguette and round diamonds around it and down the shoulders. The name Aquamarine comes from the Latin aqua marinus, meaning “water of the sea,” and refers to its sparkling ocean-like colour. The pale blue, transparent crystal is a member of the Beryl family. Its colour, sometimes bluish green, is caused by iron oxides within the chemical makeup of the stone.

It is a very pretty contrast with the well matched white diamonds and would make an unusual engagement or dress ring.
