Art Deco Gold, Spinel and Rose Cut Diamond Wrap Around Ring

111S
Written by Olly Gerrish

This red spinel and diamond Art Deco ring combines quirky design and variation in cut to make this an interesting and unusual piece. At first glance, it appears to be two stacked rings, with its cross-over split shank set along half its length with a row of rose-cuts diamonds, and a pinkish-red spinel and a small cushion cut diamond at the centre of each row.  You could say you are getting two for the price of one! The pairing of a red stone and diamond has been used for centuries as a symbol of enduring love and passion, making this a perfect and original engagement ring.

The spinel, very similar in appearance to the ruby and often mistaken for it, can be the better option as they tend to be cleaner stones. This example is no exception.
