Art Deco 18ct & Platinum, Three Stone French Cut Sapphire & Diamond Ring

182U
Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual ring that was made circa 1920.  It is yellow gold with a top.  It has been set with three square French cut sapphires in a line across the top.  A reason that French Cuts were popular in the Art Deco era was their ability to complement the geometric designs that popularised the period.  They also have a lovely play of light when worn.  Around them are collet set small, well matched diamonds. It curves nicely around the finger and sits low so it is a practical ring to wear as an engagement ring.
