Art Deco 18ct Gold & Platinum, Sapphire & Diamond Ring

272R
Written by Olly Gerrish

This ring is all about style and is typical of the 1920s fashion for geometric looking pieces of jewellery known as the Art Deco period. The square French cut sapphire has been tipped in to a diamond shape within a platinum setting. There is a small diamond on either side.. The most immediately noticeable feature of the French cut sapphire is the crown that appears square when viewed from above, and it has just 9 crown facets. Adjoining the four sides of the table are four triangle facets that point towards the corners of the crown. This gives the appearance of a four pointed star. It was a very popular cut in the Art Deco period. This ring would make a perfect engagement ring
