Art Deco 18ct Gold & Platinum, Onyx & Diamond Geometric Ring

579T
Written by Olly Gerrish

The Art Deco period was a reaction to over blown Victorian designs and the flowing Art Nouveau motifs. Instead jewellery was much starker and more geometric such as this ring. Onyx was a favourite stone to use as it is dramatic especially when contrasted with diamonds. This ring has been designed with a long octagonal cut onyx with a diamond in the centre set in to an octagonal platinum setting. It is typical of the 1920s period and is as smart a look now as it was one hundred years ago.
