18ct White Gold 1950s Sapphire & Diamond Ballerina Ring

313R
Written by Olly Gerrish

An impressive 18ct white gold ring that was made in the 1950s. This style is known as a ballerina ring because of the tutu design. Ballerina clusters were first seen in the 1950s. Their creation involved meticulous precision and exactness in the cutting and setting of the gemstones to lie perfectly next to each other in order to achieve the movement of a ballerina. In the centre is a claw set light sky blue sapphire that weighs over two carats. Around it are a mixture of marquise and tapered baguette diamonds in a wavy design with a total estimated weight of 1.20 carats. It looks really fantastic when worn.
