Book Your Virtual ConsultationA beautiful 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold brooch that was made circa 1960 by Carrington & Co, a famous jewellers, who were based in 130 Regent Street, London and had been awarded over the years the Royal Warrant to Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, Edward V11 and George V and then to HM Queen Elizabeth 11. This brooch is a wonderful design with intertwined ribbon motifs set with rose diamonds and calibre cutTypically small, fancy-cut faceted stones in the shape of rectangles, squares, oblongs or other specialty shapes cut to fit very closely together in a setting to create a design that often outlines or accents a larger motif. Calibre-cut comes from the word calibration which means to divide or mark with gradations. This style of stone cutting was made popular... rubies. It comes in the original Moroccan pink tooled leather case with a silk and cream velvet interior with Carringtons name printed on the silk. It is such a pretty design and looks wonderful when worn on a lapel.
